Lukas Arnold presented two overview contributions from our working group at the Forschungszentrum Jülich and the BUW.

Pyrolysis modeling: How do you determine material parameters that cannot be measured directly? We show how inverse modeling, sensitivity analysis and AI approaches help with this – and where the limits lie. Proceedings: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19092683

Visibility in case of fire: With modern measurement methods such as LEDSA and ELPI+, we determine extinction coefficients in time and location dissolved directly in the fire test. The results show that blanket assumptions about smoke extinction can significantly distort the visibility - and thus the safety assessment of evacuations. Proceedings: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19093547
