BESKID Fire Spread Experiments
Impressions from the experimental campaign.
As part of the BESKID project, we conducted another series of fire spread tests at RST (RST Rail System Testing GmbH) in November 2025.
The focus was on room corner experiments with different configurations. In addition to proven setups, new variants were also investigated in order to systematically record additional influencing parameters and expand the transferability of the results.
With these final tests, we are creating a consistent, cross-scale data set that can be used specifically for the validation of fire models. The aim is to provide a robust database that covers both fundamental physical processes and application-oriented issues.
This is an important step towards the validation and further development of powerful simulation models in fire protection.
