5th Summer School on Fire Dynamics Modeling
Here we go again! Applications are now open for the 5th Summer School on Fire Dynamics Modeling, taking place 28 September – 2 October 2026 at the IAS-7 / Forschungszentrum Jülich in Germany! This intensive week-long program is designed for scientists and professionals seeking a deeper understanding of the theory and algorithms behind fire dynamics models, with a focus on FDS. Our five full days will be packed with lectures, theory, and computational modeling — and our evenings will be reserved for lively scientific exchange and networking at the beautiful city of Aachen.
Lecturers: Jason Floyd, Simo Hostikka, Bjarne Husted, Randall McDermott, Kevin McGrattan, Marcos Vanella, Emanuele Gissi, Alexander Belt and Lukas Arnold
Who should apply? Early-career researchers, PhD students and professionals with a solid math background and interest in computational fire dynamics will benefit the most.
